4 REASONS EXERCISE WILL HELP YOUR BUSINESS

We all know it's important to exercise.

The CDC recommends adults get two and a half hours of moderately intense activity every week. Nearly 80% of adults don't meet these basic fitness goals.

We know exercise is good for our health, but how can it also be essential to our business?

1. It lifts your mood.

2. It reduces stress.

3. It boosts your confidence.

4. It helps you sleep.

6 tips to fast track your success in 2016 - take these serious and the results will follow.

1. Let your vision, commitment, & drive guide you NOT your current circumstances or limitations or excuses.

2. To get energy you must do the work, and follow through on your word. When you hustle and get things done you create energy within to take even more action.

3. ALWAYS celebrate weekly progress over perfection. Being a perfectionist will cost you hundreds of thousands of dollars. Remember you want experiments, not perfection.

4. Make sure you are ONLY associating with those who hold you accountable, raise your standards, and challenge you to think bigger...NOT those people who let you off the hook.

5. Get rid of ALL negativity in your life. Toxic people love company and they have a problem for every solution. You must purposely surround yourself w/ top-notchthinkers.

6. Start your days feeling resourceful, accomplished and confident - Define your highest value activity (MIM - most important mission) and spend the first 90 minutes doing that and NOTHING else. - use your success sheet every morning & evening.

Habits will always trump inspiration. Inspiration is needed to create consistent action, but your habits are ultimately going to define your success or failure.

Which one of these will make the BIGGEST impact on your success and results this week and this year if you really focused on it?

Mariah Coz has been building businesses since 2008. After being in a touring punk band for a few years, she decided she wanted income in between tours and got started online. She first started out on Etsy selling vintage clothes and sunglasses that she would find at thrift stores for a profit. Then she purchased, renovated, and flipped vintage camper trailers for a few years. Mariah became a public speaker, developed a proprietary curriculum for high school girls that she toured around the country, and even did freelance museum curation.

Then, after burning out on selling physical products on Etsy and her crazy speaking/teaching travel schedule, she let go of my profitable, but crazy businesses to pursue "online courses" and get REAL freedom back. Mariah set a goal to replace her Etsy and speaking income with leveraged, passive online courses. 30 days later, Mariah had made $10k selling a course about living in a vintage camper. That was 4 years ago!

It changed everything and set her on the path she is on today - helping people turn their weird passions, hobbies and unique skills into leveraged digital products. Now, Mariah runs Femtrepreneur, a 7-figure business that helps badass young women start their own online course businesses so they can lead autonomous, independent lives!

In this episode, Mariah is sharing some of her best tips for getting recognized and building successful and profitable courses in your niche industry, sharing why she loves super small niches for course building, and how you can get started today with your next big idea.

I recorded this story based on a question someone in my FREE FB community shared, but I'm sure many of you will find it beneficial and interesting.

This is the story of how my VP found out about my side business and how I felt during that time, how I decided to be super open & visible with my business while still working, and the things I'd do differently if I could go back in time!

This year I attended an event in Vegas that was the culmination of a program I worked through during Q1 of this year called 90 Day Year, with Todd Herman.

It was an epic weekend to say the least where I connected with some incredible humans and entrepreneurs who are all doing amazing and world changing things.

I took over 40 pages of notes…not even kidding. And I want to share some of those knowledge bombs and insights with you through the podcast and in my FREE community

In this episode I share some of my biggest takeaways from keynote speaker, Brian Smith, founder of UGG. He spoke about birthing a business and how we cannot give birth to an adult!

Why do we try to do this all the time? I’ll walk you through what this all really means for you in this episode.

He has 5 big lessons in his talk and this is just one of them, so imagine how much else I have to share with you over the next few months about this event.

Most business owners know that in order to be successful, they’ve got to set goals.  But despite this, many business owners don’t actually do it.

Of the business owners that do set them, just like New Year’s resolutions, most don’t follow through.

There’s a whole load of reasons why you don’t achieve your goals, typically they are excuses.

When you set big goals, many people feel a sense of overwhelm. Rather like standing at the bottom of a huge mountain, the size of the goal before you, just like the mountain, appears to be enormous.

Instead, let’s use 90 day goals to eat the elephant one bite at a time.

If you break a task or goal into smaller chunks, it’s a lot easier to achieve.

Consequently, the most successful way for you to achieve a big goal is rather than creating a plan to tackle your goals for the year, is instead to focus on your goals for the next 90 days.

So, having a goal for the year is great, but being really clear what you’re going to achieve in the next 90 days towards that big goal, makes it much more likely that you’ll achieve it.

What’s more, having a smaller goal over a shorter period makes it much easier to get everybody to move forward at the same time.

Why 90 Day Goals Are Better Than Year Long Ones:

– 90 Day’s isn’t too long

– 90 Day’s isn’t too short either

– Parkinsons Law – work expands to fill the time available for its completion means that if you give yourself a week to complete a two hour task.

– Helps motivate you – you’re more likely to stay motivated when you have WINS

– You can reset them quickly

– You aren’t tempted to spread yourself too thinly by trying to achieve too much

Tips To Achieve Your 90 Day Goals:

1. Write them down – 42% more likely to achieve them

2. Keep them visible

You might be thinking you're GREAT at multi-tasking! It's how I work best you tell yourself!

Heck you pride yourself on it and have even used it as a strength on a job application in the past...but what if it was all a LIE?!

What if I told you you were losing up to 75% of your day to multi-tasking? Is that enough of a loss to get you to listen?

If you’re working on 5 different projects at one time -- you’re losing up to 75% of your time to context switching.

If I have 8 hours in my day...only 2 hours is actual productive work.

You can be smart and competent and still very unproductive.

Exhausting, frustrating.

Think about all that extra time you could be saving. All those results you're missing out on...

It doesn't have to be this way!

You’re not bad at what you do, you’re just working inside of a broken model. You CAN fix that model, and I’m going to send you over to Todd Herman’s free video series to get started.

What if your next 90 days were THE BEST 90 days you've ever had in business?

What if they were better than you even thought possible?!
{hint: they CAN be -- start here with this FREE series: www.adriennedorison.com/todd}

► What if you knew exactly how to make more money, be more productive, and become a more powerful and influential leader over the next 90?

There's a huge gap between setting goals and achieving them, and there's a ton of flawed teachings around both concepts.

I talk a lot about productivity and efficiency in my own business…it's my background in LEAN Six Sigma that drives my own expertise...

But no one is more of an expert on this topic than my mentor and friend, Todd Herman.

Todd is THE BEST high performance coach/advisor you'll ever meet, hence why I hired him.

Todd's been working in the 'field of play' as he calls it for over 20 years...coaching professional athletes, Olympians, Fortune 100 CEOs and high level entrepreneurs on how to perform when the stakes are high.

*And his systems are independently validated by third-party Harvard researchers...and that means they'll work for you regardless of what type of business you run or goals you're trying to achieve.

Traditional goal setting tactics are archaic, ineffective...and they're definitely not S.M.A.R.T.

This is likely why both you and I have felt there was something MISSING in our goal process in the past...but could never seem to figure out what or WHY.

ENTER: Todd Herman.

Once I started approaching my goals in the way Todd was teaching approached my goals in this way, not only did I start achieving MORE in FAR less time…
… but I've done so with more clarity, predictability and less leaked energy {so clutch}.

Todd's just released his powerful free training video, where he talks about:

  • The 3 reasons why setting the WRONG goals are a surefire way to sabotage your success in 2017(ever notice how millions of business owners set them, yet only a handful ever achieve something on a large scale?).
  • The hidden "leak" in your day-to-day routine that may be robbing you of up to 80% of your productive efficiency... and how to instantly patch it up for good.
  • The "Nike Paradox" and why it can be so disastrous for your long term achievement.
  • The subtle differences between the OW and WOW mindsets, and how with just a few simple tweaks you can move from a self-sabotaging, anxiety-driven entrepreneur caught in the constant comparison trap… to a confident, motivated, constantly-improving high performer.
  • Why setting goals beyond 90 days sucks all the air out of your motivation, leads to crippling procrastination, and goes against the way your brain is naturally wired.

With 2016 coming to a close, what Todd teaches is more important than ever.

Every time Todd opens up this free video series, I watch them all again and learn something new and valuable each time. New aha moments, shifts, transformation, and I cannot wait to hear yours.

I want to invite you along for this free series, because even if you decide to NEVER work with Todd like I have, you WILL get huge value from going through this free content with us.

Listen in to this interview where Todd will share the big differences between goal setters and goal achievers, and how you can be in that second group of humans sooner than later!

How do you create so much content?

How do you create content that is so honest and direct and uninhibited?

These were two questions that I received this week from a listener, and in this episode I'm sharing why these questions are actually one in the same. Oh, and I'll answer them both.

Because if you're struggling with content creation, feeling like it takes FOREVER...or just feeling boring and vanilla with anything you create...then you definitely need to listen in.

YOU NEED TO BE ACCOUNTABLE TO GET THINGS DONE.

Want to know what I really think about the online entrepreneurship world?!

There's a ton of good...tons of freedom, flexibility, creative spirit, profit potential, growth and leadership experience...the list goes on. #amiright?!

Preaching to the choir, I'm sure...but I think there's also a HUGE problem.

HOUSTON, we have a problem!

And it could be the thing that's actually holding you back from getting bigger and faster results...ya know...the ones you're wondering why you're not currently getting?!

The online entrepreneurship world is missing one of the critical elements that supports our success...accountability.

You remember what that is, right?

The participation grade you received in college for showing up to all your classes.

The mid-term date that you couldn't push back.

The manager that you said hello to at the coffee pot every morning before the team meeting.

The quarterly goal setting that your company VP would approve.

It also looked like this...

The friend that texted you when you didn't show up for said class.

The classmate that dragged you to go study before said mid-term.

The office bestie that ran into your office to let you know your boss was in a mood today.

The mentor that helped you identify what you needed to work on if you wanted to advance.

And guess what...it even looked like this...

The deadline for your thesis paper.

The project timeline that couldn't be delayed without another budget approval.

The end of year review that let us know if we were meeting, exceeding or falling short of the expectations.

The very thing that we despised and dreaded about our previous roles is also thing that allowed us to BE the achievers that we are.

Without deadlines or grades there is no OVER-ACHIEVING.

Without milestones and recognition there is no BEST IN CLASS.

Without accountability or support there is no SENSE OF URGENCY.

I'm not just going to leave you hanging though...there are some ways to insert some accountability back into your business with love, not bitterness.

The big difference though?

YOU have to make the effort.

No one else can decide this for you.

You have to ask for it. Or create it. Or raise your hand.

Okay...here's some great ways to build some accountability back into your life...in ways that won't feel like you're being strangled or back in corporate.

  1. Find a business bestie.

Not your college roommate bestie...that won't work here, unless they're also an entrepreneur. You need someone WHO GETS IT. And NOT someone who is going to let you off the hook every time things get tough...that's not a true business bestie. Business besties listen, love and then require each other to execute at their highest potential.

Where to find one?

Reach out to someone that you resonate with in some FB groups or at a local networking event. Don't be shy...

I met mine in a FB group in early 2015, we had a coffee chat and the rest is history! We now meet every Friday morning for a 5am accountability call and catch up sesh.

We've even collaborated on events, webinars, and retreats!

  1. Join a mastermind.

Masterminds are one of the BEST additions I've made to my business {both being in one and running them}.

By definition, a mastermind is a combination of brainstorming, education, peer accountability and support in a group setting designed to sharpen your business and personal skills. It's build to help you and your mastermind counterparts achieve success.

You challenge each other to set powerful goals, and more importantly, to accomplish them. The group requires commitment, confidentiality, willingness to both give and receive advice and ideas, and support each other with total honesty, respect and compassion.

Your mastermind partners are catalysts for growth, devil’s advocates and supportive colleagues.

I've seen the great power these groups can have from both participating and running them and recommend them to anyone who is at the Momentum or Leader phase of business.

Where to find one?

Some of your mentors may also facilitate masterminds OR you can create one on your own.

I facilitate 2 different masterminds and we're enrolling new members now if this is something you've been seeking. You can apply here.

  1. Hire support.

Now, support comes in many shapes and forms, so interpret this in whatever way is going to best serve you, but I'll give you a few examples.

MENTOR -- support might be a mentor or coach that you meet with regularly to ensure you're challenging yourself enough and consistently moving towards your goals {and actually hitting them}. It's much easier to fall off the wagon when no one knows there was a wagon. This is an incredible layer of support to have if you want it.

TEAM -- support might also come in the form of team members. When you have a team, you want to inform them of your goals and deadlines so that they can help keep you accountable to staying on track.

While I don't think this is AS powerful as a mentor or coach {because essentially YOU are the boss, and can end up pushing back deadlines again...}, but it's still a great extra layer versus being alone in your own business vortex.

Where to find one?

Right here of course.

Enrollment is officially open for my 2017 one on one program -- the Leader Track Experience, so in all seriousness...if you're interested, apply here.

And if you know I'm not the mentor for you, I know a ton of other great peeps I can refer you to.

You can also ask your business besties for referrals, reach out to people you admire in your industry, or even come ask for some recommendations inside my free FB group here.

Wherever you find this mentor -- just do your homework and make sure you're a good fit for each other.

We need discipline to create freedom.

For me personally, I EXCEL when I share my goals, have support, and surround myself with humans that will keep me accountable to my timely growth and success.

I've done SCARY things to make sure that I've got all that setup in my life and business, scary things like:

>> investing lots of money into the right mentor,

>> sending messages to people who didn't know me from Adam asking them if they wanted to be accountability buddies,

>> and my most recent scary move...asking some of my busiest, most inspiring, and most influential friends if they would join me for a peer retreat here in Florida.

By NOT having these things in your life, you're NOT setting yourself up for success. You're not allowing yourself to excel.

We are human...

When left to our own devices, we procrastinate, we make excuses, we get distracted, we spin, we question ourselves, we lose perspective, we get overwhelmed...the list goes on.

Accountability IS the backbone of your success. It's the thing that ties it all together.

So, however you add some to your business...do it sooner than later.

I'd love to know how YOU are currently adding accountability to your business.

And if you're ready to raise your hand for more support and accountability -- apply here for Leader Track.

It’s your personal responsibility to use your voice.

Fear is strong, but your leadership needs to be bolder.

I was silent for so long...out of fear.

I had these thoughts...

What will they think of me, what if I don’t know the right things to say, what if someone hates me now or thinks I’m not as intelligent because I don’t know ALLLLL the facts, what if...what if...what if…

But what if I stay silent?

Who does that help? Who does that serve? How is that leadership?

What we tolerate, is perpetuated.

What are you tolerating by NOT speaking up? What are you staying too quiet about?

I want you to share with me over in my FB group here.

HOW TO MAKE MORE THAN YOU INVEST...

Had an insanely FUN day where my client and I mapped out her 2017 plans...including financial projections...

Super fun when you see the entire investment she made in you returned to her {and then some} in the first month of next year.

{note and tip: we'll be working together through December 2017, so her ROI will likely be 10-12x the investment -- this is always my target for pricing}.

This is the power of strategic planning and investments that help you remove the unnecessary and focus on bigger ROI.

The key to getting a big return on an investment is investing in the RIGHT THINGS.

When you're mapping out your own goals and projections, identify the GAP.

The GAP is the distance between your GOAL and the ACTION needed to make PROGRESS towards achieving it.

There are 3 areas you may have a GAP and need to fill -- know this BEFORE you make an investment.

GAPs:
1. Knowledge GAP {you don't know the techniques, strategies, tools, etc. at a knowledge level to be able to hit your goal}.

2. Action GAP {you know *what* to do, but aren't executing for one reason or another - lack of action can be related to needing accountability, support, or belief}.

3. Belief GAP {you don't believe your goal is possible...and therefore aren't executing or taking action}.

Some investments can meet multiple GAPS, some just meet one very specifically. There is nothing wrong with that.

There is nothing wrong with having a GAP - we actually ALL have one or multiples {otherwise we'd all have actualized all our goals already}.

The KEY is knowing where your GAP is and investing in something that will help you close that gap. The investment needs to provide the right progress so that your action allows you to achieve your goal.

Where is YOUR current GAP? And do you know how to close it?

Find out in this episode...

And if you're interested in working 1:1 with Adrienne to close your GAP -- you can apply here.

Making money is great, keeping it is better.

Many of you aren't keeping enough of your hard-earned cash...and there's something you can do about it.

Managing your own money is part of the responsibility of earning it. If you're unwilling to track and budget, then don't expect to make big profits.

Today's guest, Danetha Doe, is a financial strategist who's passionate about teaching her clients the necessary skills they need to manage their hard-earned money.

Danetha has a proven track record of helping companies streamline their accounting functions to improve their cash flow and grow their business. Her previous clients have included Google, the San Francisco 49ers, Audi and hundreds of small businesses.

In 2015, she was recognized as one of the Top under 40 under 40 accounting professionals by CPA Practice Advisor.

A former NFL Cheerleader and fitness instructor, Danetha now resides in her dream condo in the Bay Area of California with her partner, Nick.

Let's talk about why you need to be doing your own books on a weekly basis until you hit $100K in sales annually, then do it on a daily basis until you hit $1M in sales, why you need to calculate your net worth weekly and why most 6-figure business owners are spending more than they should.

Balance isn't real. And if you want to reach your goals and have the success you desire...then you've got to start living an imbalanced life, and be okay with it.

Balance is like a white whale that everyone is searching for, and the actual search for it is what's making you feel less than, inadequate, and defeated.

What if you just let that idea go?

What if you started loving the lack of balance instead and went ALL IN on the thing you're most interested in achieving?

Live your life in seasons, where each season has a highest priority, and everything else falls out of balance a bit so that you can excel at that main thing.

In this episode, I'll be sharing just how imbalanced my life actually is...and the big results I've been rewarded with because of that.

I'd love to hear more about YOUR views on balance -- share them here with me in my FREE FB community.

Crushin' It vs Being Crushed

Gemma Went is an online business consultant working with one woman bands to global brands, helping them get the results they crave online. She's led the marketing at a range of businesses, been the social media director at two agencies and delivered successful digital strategies across many industries. She's run two businesses of her own and helped many clients get the results they need online. Helping them to take their business in the right direction and reach the goals they desire.

Gemma's current business was born when her son was born (literally, she created her website when she was 8 months pregnant and took on her first client when he was 5 months old). She started out as a single mum, so she was a sponge for life hacks that could help her to juggle a new business and a new baby. 3 years down the line she now has a 6 figure business and a dream life. She truly believe anything is possible with the right mindset and determination.

You can find Gemma over at gemmawent.co.uk.
