ARE YOU IMPLEMENTING THINGS?!
MASTERY is the secret of the world's greatest and most successful achievers.
What sets my work apart from any thing else is really quite simple.
I am focused on MASTERY, not information OVERLOAD.
Let me explain why I personally think mastery is so important…
Mastery is the highest form of achievement.
It DOES NOT require you to be perfect, but it does require you to pursue perfection.
The only way to become successful is to master the foundational elements that are aligned with your desired end results and goals.
The problem with most people is they have so much information - they take courses, read books, go to conferences, enroll in programs, watch countless webinars, read emails, etc...but they're so overwhelmed they take the wrong action, or even worse - they take NO ACTION & stay paralyzed.
The immature learner wants to get as much information as they can as fast as they can, but you’ll usually find them broke, stressed, and lacking real progress.
The mature mind is very deliberate with what they study and put in their mind.
Achievers that are ready for mastery focus on listening & learning one thing until they’ve adopted it into their daily routines and habits, and seen their results improve.
ONLY THEN do they move onto the next skill that’s aligned w/ their goals and vision.
Mastery of new skills is not optional in today’s business environment and changing economy. We're in a fast-moving, competitive world, & being able to master new skills is one of the keys to success.
Here are some keys to mastery:
BABY STEPS: Real progress and self-improvement can feel overwhelming. Realize that you can’t take on everything (this is why people don't see desired results in anything - they're focused on everything). If you do, you’ll never do it. Choose one or two things to focus on, and break that down into manageable bite-sized goals.
REFLECT: To move from experimentation to mastery, you need to reflect on what you are learning. Otherwise it won’t stick. Reflecting about your progress helps you get real feedback, keeps you accountable, and cements the change.
BE PATIENT: Too often, we approach a new skill with the attitude that we should nail it right out of the gate. The reality is that it takes much longer. It’s not going to happen overnight. This is where people get frustrated and switch gears to something else - DON'T GET FLIPPY FLOPPY! Stick with it. MASTER IT.
What are YOU going to MASTER?!
